Last year, Emily Cooper brought us into her magical life in the City of Lights on the first season of “Emily in Paris.” Now, we’ve received word of this much-awaited news: season two is officially in the works!

Emily in Paris 11

In the show, Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, is a 20-something American originally from Chicago who moves to Paris after she lands her dream job in a French marketing firm. But the glitz and glamour of Parisian life are not without its hitches, and Emily must survive the hustle of her new career while looking for love and overcoming the culture clash.

“Emily in Paris” delighted many viewers worldwide since its premiere and fans have been itching to know what will come next for the titular character ever since Netflix announced the second season last November through a letter from Emily’s boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu). And after filming schedules were pushed back due to the ongoing pandemic, the team is finally back on set and ready to bring a new story to life!

We can already expect that lots of things are going to unfold in the second season, with the possibility of Emily traveling the whole of Europe while finding herself involved in a heated love triangle. Rumor has it that she might even meet Carrie Bradshaw! (Yes — A “Sex and the City” crossover!) We’ll also be seeing the return of Sylvie, Mindy Chen (Ashley Park), Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), Julian (Samuel Arnold), Luke (Bruno Gouery), Camille (Camille Razat), and Antione Lambert (William Abadie) in this series.

“I’d like to explore so much more of the supporting cast, like Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, who plays Emily’s boss. I think we’ve just scratched the surface of who she is and what makes her tick. … I certainly have a lot of thoughts about where I’d like to see things going, and I know that there’s a lot of story to tell. … I don’t believe, as an American, you’re ever at home in Paris. In terms of a second season, there are certainly a lot of roads to follow,” show creator Darren Star told Vanity Fair in an interview.

There’s so much to look forward to in this new installment of the two-time Golden Globe-nominated series and we just can’t wait to see it!
