Ellen Adarna talked about co-parenting and dividing financial responsibilities with her former partner John Lloyd Cruz for their son, Elias.
In an Instagram Q&A, the actress discussed how John Lloyd fulfills his financial obligations for Elias. “Did JLC support Elias financially?” a netizen asked via Ellen’s Instagram Story.

Ellen mentioned that she kept getting this question, so she decided to address it. She revealed that she gave John Lloyd a breakdown of Elias’ needs, which totals a maximum of PHP10,000. However, the actor apparently insisted on doubling that amount.
“When he asked me, how much does Elias need, I gave him a breakdown of his basic needs. Just his basic needs, and that’s 10,000 pesos max. But he insisted on doubling it,” she said.

Ellen pointed out that although she knows the actor is capable of providing more, she doesn’t want to accept more than PHP20,000.
She shared, “Because we are co-parenting. I have my obligations and responsibilities for Elias, so it’s just fair. Anything more than PHP20,000 for me is just not right, morally not right because he’s not schooling yet.”

Ellen and John Lloyd started dating in 2017 and welcomed Elias in 2018. The two announced their split in 2018.
In February 2021, Ellen confirmed her relationship with Derek Ramsay. They got married in the same year in November.
