DOST Now Offering Scholarships in Science, Tech, Engineering, Math Fields

The Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) annually offers scholarship opportunities for students pursuing a college degree. Their 2020 undergraduate scholarship program is now open for applications. These scholarships are allocated for Grade 12 students pursuing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degrees in college.

Requirements for interested applicants include being a natural-born Filipino of “good moral character and in good health.” They must also be either a member of a STEM strand or in the top five percent (5%) of any Non-STEM strand’s graduating class.

The DOST-SEI scholarship provides the following:

  • Financial assistance of P40,000 per academic year to cover tuition and other school fees
  • Living allowance of P7,000 per month
  • Book allowance of P10,000 per academic year
  • Transportation allowance for those who will be studying outside their home region
  • Group accident insurance
  • Graduation clothing allowance

Applications close on September 6 with the nationwide examination on October 20. The accomplished application form and respective requirements should be submitted to the DOST-SEI Science and Technology Scholarship Division office at the DOST Compound in Taguig City or any DOST Regional Office or Provincial Science and Technology Center.
