Englicom, the Filipino-Chinese socio-civic organization of De La Salle University-Manila, will present its flagship event titled “Nexus: Traversing Connections Towards a Dynamic Network.” There will be two webinars and a networking event over the course of two weeks. The event will feature distinctive speakers, company leaders from a variety of industries, partner companies, and ENGLICOM alumni. Participants will be able to interact with people from a wide range of fields and origins. Considering the online format, this flagship event is a more sophisticated version of an alumni homecoming, coupled with the professional experience of social networking.

The primary objective of Nexus: Traversing Connections Towards a Dynamic Network is to build connections and learn more about the corporate environment. In addition, two speakers, each representing different business industries, will highlight their past stories as well as their route towards becoming successful in their respective careers.
The webinars also aim to bring together and highlight a diverse range of notable professionals from many fields who will share their stories and insight with the audience. The first webinar focuses on numerous business strategies and methods that may be used to flourish in different organizations regardless of changing circumstances. The second webinar will include professionals from diverse industries discussing how they used and combined their knowledge to start a business.
About the Speakers and Webinars
Webinar 1: Utilizing Effective Business Models Toward Entrepreneurial Success
Ms. Abigail Tan, a Managing Partner of ARQ Capital Partners and Director of Polestrom Consulting, will be the first speaker, providing insights and her perceptions regarding various business models and tactics used to succeed in operating different firms despite changing circumstances. The event, which will be broadcast live via a Facebook Group, is accessible to all students, both Lasallians and non-Lasallians.
Webinar 2: Exploring Different Ventures for the Future of Tomorrow
For our second speaker, Hubert Chua, Managing Director of Tire Asia Group Incorporated. A nationwide multi-brand importer and distributor of world class tires, lubricants, and batteries. He was also the president of the Anvil Business Club during 2020-2021, and has been an officer since 2012. Lastly, he is also an officer in FFCCCII, Ilocos Norte Chinese Chamber. These speakers will be sharing their expertise on different fields and how they used and incorporated their experiences to explore a business venture. The event will be broadcasted live through a Facebook Group, and is open to all that are interested.
NEXUS Networking Event
This networking event is the interactive component of NEXUS, where participants may engage and talk with people from various professions, with a focus on linking and establishing connections. The event will be open to the public.
One of the event’s features is that it is the first-ever online networking event of ENGLICOM. De La Salle University’s students will get the opportunity to meet and collaborate with ENGLICOM alumni and present members. Individuals will have the opportunity to meet people who have similar customer bases on May 28, 2022, from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
