The TESDA Online Program (TOP) has been around since 2012 to provide education to those who want to acquire new skills even at home. Their free online courses make education more accessible to Filipinos as it also has no age limit. The students just have to be at least computer literate.

This program was originally created for students, out-of-school youth, unemployed adults, local and overseas workers, and professionals who would like to take TESDA courses at their own pace. Although in the midst of a global pandemic, using the extra time to learn a new skill may come in handy in the future. Courses relevant to COVID-19 management are also among the choices.

The first thing you have to do is follow these steps on how to register a TESDA account:
- Go to the TESDA Online Program website and click ‘Login’ at the upper right corner.
- Scroll down to see ‘Create new account’, and then fill out all the required fields.
- Once done, a confirmation message will be sent to your email where you can activate your account.
After activating your account, here’s how to enroll in any of the online courses offered by TESDA:
- Log in to your TESDA account. You will then be redirected to the TESDA homepage.
- At the upper right corner, click ‘Courses’. There, you will find various course categories and modules you can choose from.
- Once you have decided, click on it. It will redirect you to a new page.
- Click ‘Enrol me’ to see a brief description of the course.
- If it matches your goal, follow the given instructions to acquire your learner access code and get started!
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is the government agency tasked to manage and supervise technical education and skills development in the Philippines. It was created by virtue of Republic Act 7796, otherwise known as the “Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994”. TESDA formulates manpower and skills plans, sets appropriate skills standards and tests, coordinates and monitors manpower policies and programs, and provides policy directions and guidelines for resource allocation for the TVET institutions in both the private and public sectors.
