I tried out Design Studio PH, the salon all my favorite bloggers recommend!

Here’s what my hair looked like before I had anything done. My hair is naturally straight, but I had a digiperm (in another salon) a few months ago. That’s why the top part is straight, and the bottom part is curly. I also had it colored ages ago, but never maintained the hair color. That explains the mismatched highlights at the bottom. I don’t think my hair looked bad. I was simply bored with it. I wanted something drastically new without the hassle.

Here’s how it looked like after Design Studio PH fixed it! What a difference a salon visit could make! The top part is a dark red, so I don’t have to worry about constantly coloring my roots. The black easily blends with the dark red. It slowly transitions to brown and pink. And I like my new hair so much more than the pegs I brought to the salon! (Again, make sure to make the most out of the free hair assessment!)

Here are some tips for those who want to visit Design Studio PH:

1.) Always call before dropping by.

Chiara shared how she sometimes stays up to 3:00 am just to answer inquiries from customers. You could imagine how busy it gets. It’s best to call beforehand and schedule an appointment. They welcome walk-ins as well, but I think it’s really best to schedule your appointments.

2.) Avail of their free hair assessment.

I see a lot of comments that always ask salons how much the rate for a certain service is. They attach pegs, and expect salons to come up with a price. It would depend on so many factors, including the length and quality of your hair. Don’t worry–Design Studio PH won’t exaggerate on your hair quality just so you avail of endless hair treatments. In Design Studio PH, I noticed that they’re upfront with you regarding your hair condition, but they will leave the decision up to you. They’re not pushy, and they’re not a hard sell. They’re sincere and honest, something you immediately sense once you start consulting with them.

3.) Be strategic with your schedule.

If you want a haircut only, then you might not have to stay in the salon for hours. (Unless you want to!) But if you get a balayage like me, it might take you almost an entire day! I naively thought that getting a balayage would take a few hours. I ended up staying from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm! It has a lot of steps, and the staff is meticulous. I was lucky I didn’t have commitments scheduled in the afternoon. Below is a BTS shot of my hair when we were testing out colors and making sure that the color was perfect.

The success of Design Studio PH is well-deserved. I know that if I’m reviewing a salon, I’m expected to tell our readers about my new haircut and hair color. Or about the ambiance and the products they used. And to an extent, I did write about those.

But when I look back on my Design Studio PH experience, I am most reminded of how touching it was to be treated the way they treated me. There was so much sincerity and attention to detail. I could imagine myself going back to Design Studio PH when I want a new look. Or if I need a pick-me-up. It’s my happy place, and I can’t wait to be back. I’ve already told my family and friends about it, because I know they’ll be in good hands with Design Studio PH.
