Derek Ramsay is no stranger to rumors about him moving on quickly to other women post-breakup, but that doesn’t mean he can’t feel “insulted” by them.
In an interview with Morly Alinio on DZRH’s “Showbiz Talk” on Sunday, December 13, the 44-year-old actor addressed the accusations and shared his thoughts on them.
“May nagpa-picture sa akin… she’s a fitness enthusiast, super sexy, oo. Humingi siya ng picture, umoo ako. Ngayon, girlfriend ko na daw,” he said.
[“Someone asked me to take a picture with her… she’s a fitness enthusiast, super sexy, yes. She asked for a picture, I said yes. Now, they’re saying she’s my girlfriend.”]
Derek had also been linked to Pops Fernandez recently.
“Parang nakakainsulto din kasi, ‘di ba?” Derek lamented. “Ako, very proud ako sa pamilya ko, ‘tapos ginaganu’n-ganu’n nila. It reflects who my family is, kung paano nila ako pinalaki. For them (bashers) to talk about me like that… alam mo, artista tayo so it comes with the territory. Pero tao rin kami, you know, masakit na kung anu-ano na lang ang pwedeng sabihin.”
[“It’s insulting, right? I am very proud of my family and then they do that to innocent people. It reflects who my family is, how they are raised. For them to talk about me like that… you know, I’m a celebrity so it comes with the territory. But we’re still people, you know, and it hurts that they can just say things like that.]
“Actually, nabuntis ko na daw ang buong Pilipinas eh, parang ganu’n na nga eh. Makikita na lang siguro natin in nine months,” he remarked. “At sana naman, ang mga bashers, after nine months kapag nakita nila na hindi totoo ‘yung mga sinabi nila, mag-sorry na lang sila, sana.”
[“Actually, I’ve impregnated the entire Philippines, they said. I guess we’ll just see in nine months. And hopefully, after nine months the bashers will just apologize when they see that it isn’t true.”]
In the same interview, Derek admitted that he’s been having a difficult time moving on from his breakup with Andrea Torres especially when he invested so much into their relationship.
“It’s taking a lot of time for me because, you know, that relationship was very different from all the others,” he shared. “Pero [But] you know, you have to move on.”
“My friends, my family, they keep me strong and they keep me positive,” he added. “So ako, tsini-cherish ko na lang iyong good times na nangyari [So I simply just cherish all the good times that happened], and we all have to move on.”
Derek and Andrea confirmed their split last November after being together for over a year.
