CSSP Student Council brings in Hawaiian festivity with its theme “Hau’oli”

In celebration of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy’s (CSSP) Spirit Month, the CSSP Student Council brings in Hawaiian festivity with its theme Hau’oli, which means happiness in Hawaiian. The event runs for the whole month of February 2019 and it aims to promote college spirit, camaraderie, and the strengthening of the CSSP identity.

Hau’oli includes the following events:

Alaula: the light of the early dawn, will jumpstart the festivities for Hau’oli: CSSP Spirit Month 2019. It is a month-long exhibit that opens on February 06, 2019 at the AS Lobby.

Hana Hui: KAPPalakasan is the sports festival of the college that is comprised of several mini-tournaments of various sports such as Philippine Games, Basketball. Volleyball Board Games, and an Online Amazing Race. Games will be held on these dates: February 07-09, 11, 13, and 28 2019 at the following venues: Quezon Hall Amphitheater, UP Village Basketball Court, and CSSP Wellness Center.

The CSSP Summit is a 1-day event for senior high school students from NCR, that aims to orient the students to the various disciplines under the social sciences and philosophy. This event will be held on March 2, 2019 at Palma Hall 400.

On March 4, 2018, a day event where CSSP majors from the college’s 8 departments are given an avenue to share their knowledge through Ka Haumana: CSSP Undergraduate Conference. Research papers will be presented in front of a set panel and the audience will be composed of 200 participants.

Finally, Luau: Mx CSSP will cap-off the CSSP Spirit Month on March 08, 2019. It is the most festive occasion wherein all CSSP majors can come together on a chill night of fun, entertainment and laughter.

Its main event is the pageant open for all genders, with each candidate representing advocacies of their own department.

Hau’oli: CSSP Spirit Month 2019 encompasses how happiness can be realized and achieved by allowing each student to discover more of his/her potential as an individual Iskolar ng Bayan while feeling loved and cared for in its very home—the CSSP community.
