Because behind every great story, are great Chucks that were there for the ride.
Everyone’s favorite sneaker brand, Converse, is back with a global campaign called “Made By You”— a campaign that celebrates fans all over the world who have been expressing themselves and their creativity with Chuck Taylor All-Star sneakers for nearly 100 years.
That’s right, 100 years. Chances are, your mom and dad had their own Chucks, as well as stories that have made them all the more special.
For the Spring 2015 campaign, Converse scoured the globe to collect beloved and distinctly personal Chuck Taylors, each of which tells a story of transformation from blank canvas to self-portraits of their owner.
From musicians, skaters, fashionistas, and artists such as Andy Warhol and Futura, their individual Chucks give us a glimpse into their lives, as they define their own sneakers, and transform different cities around the world into an art gallery through portraits of their sneakers. Made By You is a global exhibition, with launch exhibits in top cities such as Manila, Beijing, London, and New York City.
In Manila, Kean Cipriano and Georgina Wilson were the brand ambassadors, showcasing their own design of Chucks, featured in their own gallery at the Glorietta New Activity Center that was launched last March 2. The event was hosted by LA Aguinaldo, and was attended by models, celebrities, and sneakerheads celebrating the legacy of Chuck Taylors.
Fans of the brand can also participate in this worldwide art exhibit, by having photos of their Chucks taken and printed in pop-up portrait studios in Converse stores.
