CHECK IT OUT!: Nike reveals self-lacing shoes, and it looks cool!

Anyone who has watched Back to the Future would know how awesome self-lacing shoes are –and it’s definitely the shoe every kid dreamed of having the time.

Now, finally, we’re about to have one of our childhood dreams come true with Nike’s Hyper Adapt 1.0!

Hyper adapt

Definitely not the same awesome high-cut shoes Marty wore in Back to the Future 2 (Which was a Nike shoe too!), but still, it looks pretty amazing.

According to reports, the Hyper Adapt has a self-tightening function that works via sensor which would be located by the heel of the shoe.

The laces are tightened by small electrical motors built into the shoes and can be manually adjusted by pressing two buttons, just in case the shoe gets too tight.

Though the movie envisioned that self-tightening shoes would be widely available to everyone in 2015, it looks like we’ll have to wait for a while to see this in the open market.

The HyperAdapt 1.0 will only be available to members of Nike+ beginning Holiday 2016 in three colors.

Here’s the shoe that inspired this sneaker innovation:

Are you excited to get your hands on one of these when they get released? We sure are!
