The “Coloring Book” hitmaker was the guest of honor on Saturday’s DuSable Museum of African American History’s Night of 100 Stars gala, and decided to surprise his hosts by making the announcement to donate his Grammy.

In his speech, Chance revealed that he was donating his Grammy award for Best Rap Album to help make the museum “a staple of African American history”, to which he received a standing ovation from the guests.

Chance made history in the 21st century after his win for Coloring Book, as it was the first stream-only album to win the award. Chance also won awards for Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance.
