Carol Banawa is a frontliner in this fight against COVID-19

Carol Banawa is a homegrown name when it comes to OPM. Her voice is one of the most memorable ones in the showbiz industry. She is the voice behind the songs Bakit ‘Di Totohanin and Tanging Yaman.

She used to be a talent on ABS-CBN and was part of Batch 4 when Star Magic was launched in 1997. Her batchmates include Jericho Rosales, Kristine Hermosa, Dimples Romana, Nikki Valdez, Julia Clarete, and Dominic Ochoa.

However, in 2003, Banawa left the Philipines and her showbiz career to settle down in the US.

She took up Nursing in Washington D.C. As a registered nurse, Banawa is serving in the frontline in the US for the COVID-19 fight.

She shared this on an Instagram post.

“New gear. Just got word that I will be floating out of my home unit starting next week to train and help out other units in the next few weeks. Preparing for the incoming surge of #covid patients. Grateful to receive this added protection just in time. Here we go,” she wrote.

Banawa is based in the US with her husband Ryan Crisostomo and two children, Chelsea at River.

Although now working as a nurse and she no longer sings full-time, she remains active in singing. She regularly posts about her gigs on her Instagram account.

As of posting, the US has more than half a million confirmed COVID-19 cases and around 22,000 deaths
