His daughter Peach Caparas confirmed her father’s passing through an ode titled “SA BAWAT TIPA NG MAKINILYA” that she posted on Facebook. Dedicated to direk Carlo J. Caparas, she reflected on her father’s accomplishments as an artist, writer, and filmmaker, giving birth to some of the most iconic fictional characters in the creative industries in the Philippines. It goes:

“Pack up na Direk”.

Before concluding her post, Carlo J. Caparas’ daughter also included a short but sweet message to the departed Filipino director. Attaching a photo of her father in black and white, she wrote:

Dad, you will forever be loved, cherished, and honored…by all of us.
Love,
The children of a King

Carlo J. Caparas’ cause of death was not disclosed.

Details of Carlo J. Caparas’ wake, on the other hand, were announced by Peach Caparas. The wake will start on Monday, May 27, 2024, from 12 noon to 12 midnight, at the Golden Haven Memorial Chapels and Crematorium in Las Piñas City.

In addition to Peach Caparas’ announcement, Panday actor Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. penned an emotional tribute to Caparas on Facebook, where he acknowledged Carlo J. Caparas as his mentor and the significance of the director in his career. He wrote:

We have all lost a great creative mind.
Our culture is vastly richer because of you.
Maraming salamat sa lahat Direk!
Rest in peace!

The senator also shared some throwback photos with the beloved “Panday” creator and director.
