In the past days, there have been unconfirmed reports circulating around that former Senator Bongbong Marcos is sick and fighting for his life. The stories go on to claim that his lungs have collapsed and he has been airlifted to Singapore on Chavit Singson’s plane.

On Thursday, the former senator denied these reports and said, “I am doing ok and contrary to popular belief, I am home on self-quarantine.”

He confirmed that he is recuperating through a Facebook post, which included a photo of him holding a newspaper.

“I am deeply touched and overwhelmed by your concern over my condition. Don’t worry, I am doing ok and contrary to popular belief, I am home on self-quarantine,” Marcos wrote.

“Fortunately, I feel much better and am getting stronger by the day. I have no doubt in my mind that this is partly due to the excellent work of the nurses and doctors who helped me during this time,” he added.

Senator Imee Marcos, his sister, confirmed on Thursday that the former senator had undergone testing for the coronavirus disease after arriving home sick from his trip to Spain.

“He came back from Spain unwell. Finally got a test 2 nights ago,” she said in a text message, saying the test was for COVID-19.

Imee Marcos also said that she and her 90-year-old mother, former first lady Imelda Marcos, are “OK.”
