Filipinos are not only attending people’s rallies on-ground but they’re holding them in games too.
A group of “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” players just held an e-people’s rally together to express support for the tandem of Vice President Leni Robredo and running mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan last April 2, 2022, where they staged virtual games and did a “house-to-house campaign” at the NPC villagers’ homes in the island.
According to ACNH player Paula Dehesa, the idea was originally posted on Reddit and subsequently shared in one of the local “Animal Crossing” groups. Tons of volunteers helped with the logistics and the creation of custom clothing, designs, posters, and standees.
“During the first “wave”, we had four batches. Two on each island. I was one of the island hosts. Once the guests arrive, they are welcomed with paraphernalia to add to the fun. This includes a headband, party poppers, and balloons. The hosts prepares games for the guests. On my island we had flower trample, spin the wheel, and a relay. Each host also has a designated lugaw station on their island,” Paula shared.
“This is just the initiative of some ‘Animal Crossing’ players, not an official campaign [and] not affiliated with ACNH or Nintendo.”
