According to Deadline, the highly anticipated reboot will be developed by the same production team behind the 2002 film adaptation, which starred Mandy Moore and Shane West.
“A Walk to Remember’ has endured as a beloved coming-of-age drama, captivating audiences with its heartfelt story of young love, personal growth, and the power of faith for decades. We could not be more excited to bring a new version of Nicholas Sparks’ timeless story to audiences and are particularly thrilled to work alongside the original film’s producers, Denise and Hunt,” film producer Steve Barnett told Deadline in a statement.
The producing team working on the reboot will be Steve Barnett, Alan Powell, and Vicky Patel for Monarch Media, Di Novi and Margaret French-Isaac for Di Novi Pictures, and Lowry and Patty Reed for Roserock Films.
This is set to be the second film adaptation of Sparks’ bestselling 1999 romance book “A Walk to Remember,” which revolves around a rebellious high school senior who falls in love with a quiet and religious girl.
