EJ Obiena is on a roll!

On August 6 (Philippine time), he brought home his second straight gold medal at the Stabhochsprung Meeting in Jockrim, Germany.
He won gold after clearing 5.83 meters on his first attempt, edging out Qatar’s Seifeldin Abdelsalam, who also cleared the same height but did so on his third attempt.

“5.83m for the [gold] in front of a packed J-Town,” he captioned his Instagram post.
“Was far from smooth competition and some struggles during warm-up and earlier bars, but happy to scrape an 80 bar. We continue to work and now a few trainings in before we go again,” he added.
Prior to this win, he also bagged the gold at the Halberstädter Höhenflug – 1. Internationales Stabhochsprung-Meeting auf dem Domplatz in Germany.
As of writing, he has now won a total of seven gold medals this 2026.
