2 French in Manila Announce They’re Stepping Away From Content Creation

Travel vlog 2 French in Manila, led by content creator duo John and Nelson, has announced that they’re officially saying goodbye to making content.

In a video posted on their social media pages, the two shared a montage of moments from their travels across the Philippines, paired with a message about closing this chapter of their journey.

“We arrived here young, full of dreams, knowing barely about the Philippines and nothing about Manila,” Nelson shared in the video.

John followed by reflecting on how the channel began: “We’re just two French friends who met in college in Paris with a strong desire for adventure and learning from others.”

Over the years, 2 French in Manila became known for highlighting local food spots and experiences, often focusing on smaller restaurants and people behind the scenes. Nelson said he hopes their content helped viewers discover places worth supporting—particularly those run by people who cook with care rather than solely for profit.

John added that they wish the chefs and individuals they featured would continue doing what they’re passionate about.

Rather than going into detail about why they’re stopping, the two chose to focus on gratitude.

“In the end, we just want to use this video to say thank you to everyone who watched us, who welcomed us, who ate with us, who laughed with us,” John said.

Nelson shared that they have no regrets and that they did their best to live the experience fully, honoring both their friendship and the country that shaped their journey.

The video closed with the two thanking each other, with “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa playing in the background. It was an emotional send-off to nearly a decade of shared experiences.

In the caption, John and Nelson reflected on how the channel was never just about food. “It was about people, values, and moments that felt real. Over time, the world changed. So did we,” they wrote.

They also clarified that while they won’t be actively creating content anymore, their accounts will remain online for followers who want to revisit past videos and recommendations.

2 French in Manila began creating content around 2017, documenting their experiences across the Philippines and offering a perspective that bridged French and Filipino cultures.
