The ACT AVENUE THEATER FESTIVAL 2024: KWENTONG BARBERO is where storytelling and social change intersect. We celebrate the vibrant narratives from our communities, often shared in the barber shop’s intimate setting.
Festival conveys a mission to free and amplify diverse voices through local theater. It emphasizes the role of theater as a tool for social change & fostering collaboration within the community, particularly through the #TeatroTulungan initiative, which supports and connects theater groups. Overall, it reflects a commitment to inclusivity, creativity, and social justice.
We will feature ten (10) plays to be performed by different university and/or community theater groups around Luzon. The list are as follows:
