LOOK: Catriona Gray Incorporates Cultural Pieces in Her New Home

Catriona Gray just shared a tour inside “Casa De Gray,” her new home, in her latest vlogs!

The beauty queen gave fans a first peak inside her first home that’s designed with cultural pieces from local brands, aside from her Binibining Pilipinas and Miss Universe memorabilia displays. In the two-part vlog, she mentioned that she worked with Hurray Design to bring her vision to life in the house she had always wanted. “I would say that my taste in decor is bold and eclectic,” she described. “When I was decorating my home, it was very important to me to really incorporate local products,” she added, “to really show the beauty of our culture.” She even collaborated with Filipina artist Raxenne for a custom wallpaper.

“I am a huge fan but also an ambassadress of Filipino culture with the NCCA [National Commission for Culture and the Arts] so I love displaying my love of our culture through decor and beautiful things,” Catriona emphasized.

Nevertheless, she also incorporated an aboriginal art piece to pay homage to her Australian roots as well. Across it though is a framed Yakan woven fabric, which as a fan of woven textures, she said, “while other people frame their Hermes scarves, I frame my textiles!” Later on, she realizes that weaves are really the theme of her home as she sat on her bed frame by Filipino designer Ito Kish which features different weaves of the Philippines. “I really just think that it’s a beautiful way to incorporate something that’s an indigenous art but make it modern and contemporary,” she expressed.

You can also spot some local finds–bags and shoes–in her closet, mixed with investment pieces. But before ending the video, she flexed her most-loved budols namely, the Celine perfume Dans Paris from her Singapore trip with makeup artist Jelly Eugenio and a Ferris wheel for her earrings she got from online shopping. “Nabudol ako,” she claimed.
