LOOK: This Local Artist Made Chibi Figures of The “Trese” Characters

Once Trese, the first Filipino-based anime Netflix show, premiered on our small screens, it instantly took the whole country by storm. Even those who didn’t know about  became instant fans of the show. And it’s no surprise that fanmade art also emerged from many talented local artists.

One of these cool artworks was handmade by Laurence Atienza dela Cueva. On a Facebook post, he shared his handmade mini clay figurines of some of Trese’s main characters.

These clay figures featured Alexandra Trese, the famous sidekick twins Crispin and Basilio, and the mythical Santelmo, reimagined in cute chibi characters.

Dela Cueva shares that he and his wife became instant fans of the show once they watched it. He says that he felt so proud of the world-class quality of the show that he decided to create his own fan art.

It took him 3 hours to sculpt, bake, and cool each figure made out of polymer clay. And it turned out amazing!

Dela Cueva is a self-taught polymer clay artist who started with the art in 2013. After one of his previous artworks also went viral, he went on to create adorable chibi figurines in bulk for many clients.
