As the number of COVID-19 cases goes up, more and more Filipinos are fearing that the health sector may collapse and may not be able to help all the citizens who are suffering from the virus.
The Department of Health has been working double-time to make sure that the country is ready to take on the virus and eventually flatten the curve.
In DOH COVID-19 Bulletin #63, they shared that there are 44,075 total beds in Ligtas COVID-19 facilities and 1,348 total beds in Mega Ligtas COVID-19 facilities.
The Ligtas COVID-19 facilities are the ones in local municipalities that serve as isolation and general treatment areas. These are handle by local government units for quarantine or isolation of PUMs and/or PUIs. The Mega Ligtas COVID-19 include PICC, World Trade Center, Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Ninoy Aquino Stadium, and Philippine Arena.
