In the teaser that was just released, Julia is depicted suddenly getting into hysterical fits and then later secluding herself from her loved ones—signs that she is undergoing a manic depressive state. Her personality, however, is hard to understand by those around her and so she ends up having strained relationships with them. She even tries pushing away her romantic partner, who is played by Jameson Blake, and her family.

Sa tingin niyo ba ginusto ko ‘to? Tapos sasabihin niyo, gawa-gawa lang ‘yung sakit na ‘to? (Do you think I wanted this? And then you’ll tell me that I’m just making this up?)” Julia says in one scene.

The trailer has since earned praise from netizens on the video’s comments section, most of whom commend the show for allowing this opportunity to discuss mental health. A few people who have bipolar disorder or know someone who has it also shared their stories.

“I am still a work in progress, I still am in my recovery, I still do have my episodes just like recently, I had my depressive episode, but that [doesn’t] mean I can’t be a [fighter],” one netizen said. “MMK will be worth to watch. This is very important.”

Another added: “This should be watched by many to open up their minds about mental health. I was clinically diagnosed with [mental] illnesses as well and my family never believed me at gawa gawa ko lang daw (and they tell me I’m making it up). I can relate to Julia’s character so much.”

“Will be watching this, grabe yung struggle nila (their struggle is tough). I know someone who has it at hindi biro yung struggle niya and family niya (their and their family’s struggle is no joke),” another shared.

“Salute to MMK by bringing this up, there should be more people to be aware of bipolar disorder. This is no joke, [these] things should be discussed, so people will know how to deal with this,” another added.
