Heart Evangelista has probably experienced the spectrum of reception on the internet by now: from dedicated fans, to outright haters, and even having become a meme that one time, she is no stranger to all the different dynamics which take place on social media. Still, the occasional condescending insult from random social media users would tick anyone off.

So it’s no surprise that when one follower decided to give her unsolicited opinion on what looked like some white roots, Heart was compelled enough to reply. On a recent Instagram selfie she posted of herself with hair stylist, Jeck Aguilar, said IG user called her out for not taking care of her appearance.

The IG user commented: “Ubanin ka na, Miss Heart. Ang yaman mo naman. [You are already gray-haired, Miss Heart. You are so rich.] Why don’t you do something about it? You look much older than your actual age. #justsaying.”
While Heart clarified to another user that the lighting of the photo only makes it look like she has gray hair, she didn’t feel the need to defend herself to this attack. Instead, she replied: “hahah you can try to make me feel bad but it’s just not gonna happen 🙂 I have self-worth, dear :)”

Others commenting on the post questioned why her gray hair would even be an issue. They remarked that there is no need to criticize a celebrity (or anyone, really) for taking on the signs of aging. No one should ever be ashamed of something so natural as growing older.
