Beach Bumming Glaiza De Castro Finds Home in Baler

Kapuso actress Glaiza De Castro has now deemed herself a bona fide islander after settling down at her new home in beach paradise Baler.

Recently made a trip to Baler ( again! bilang finally, may masasabi na akong probinsya ? ) and was humbled by the camaraderie we’ve developed with the other locals in just four days. It started with the idea of opening our Bed & Breakfast, so I hooked up with @telayrobles of @staysaltyco.ph to come up with a simple gig and itinerary to be organized by @galuratravel. Then as we’re brainstorming and meeting with some local businesses in Baler, the support that we got was overwhelming. From getting the venue right away @aliyasurfcamp.baler, to partnering with an organization @oceancaremovement, and some local cafes and restos @mommyphoebesbaler @charlie.does, its as if everything is falling into place. So we present you #LeaveToLive, a surf, yoga and music fest that aims to encourage hardworking people to invest in experiences rather than material things and make them part of something beyond what they’ve gotten used to. She dropped the news about her new residence on Instagram, thrilled to finally have a place to call her “province.” She also shared how easy it was to develop camaraderie with the locals of Baler.

She even talked about the overwhelming support she has gotten from local businesses for her “Leave To Live” surf, yoga, and music fest this May.

Glaiza has also been trying out beach yoga and admits she has so much more to learn. “Pero sana kaya kong ilagay sa caption kung gaano kasarap sa pakiramdam yung haharapin mo yung pagsikat ng araw sabay may live music,” she said.

(“But I hope I could encapsulate in a caption just how wonderful it feels to watch the sunrise while listening to live music.”)
