Brendon Urie talks about a possible Panic! at the Disco musical

Following his stint on Broadway’s Kinky Boots, fans have been clamoring to see more of him on the theatre stage. Just watch the video below if you have any doubts that the man doesn’t belong in Broadway’s spotlight!

Although we were ecstatic to see him back with Panic! at the Disco, we wouldn’t mind seeing him have another go at Broadway. Especially if it were to be a musical about Panic! at the Disco.

In a recent interview with Rock Sound, Urie talks about wanting to do a musical that revolves around Panic! at the Disco. This wouldn’t be your ordinary jukebox musical. What Urie envisions is a “story of the origins of the band, going right the way back to the beginning”.

This sounds great, but we want to warn everyone that it seems as if he was only speaking in hypotheticals. While he admits that he has already talked to “various people within the theatre industry” on the topic of a possible musical, we don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up for nothing.

If we do get this musical though, Urie expresses that: “ultimately the reward would be so huge and we’d get to tell the story exactly the way that we wanted to. I feel like Panic! should have a show like that, that is so theatrical and outlandish.”
