ENTERTAINMENT: Chris Evans is Hanging Up Captain America’s Shield And We’re Not Sure How To Feel

It looks like Chris Evans, the man who brought to life Steve Rogers/Captain America on the big screen, might be quitting the role within the next couple of years.

It was revealed in a story with Esquire that Evans only had a six-film contract with Marvel for his role as Captain America. The next two Avengers films will be the last for his contract.

Reportedly, Evans sees that the Marvel films take too much of his time to explore other creative outlets. So it looks like Evans won’t be back as Captain America after the Infinity War films.

With this, we’re not sure how to feel.

First, it was Hugh Jackman with his last film as Wolverine. And now it’s Captain America. Basically, this is the end of an era.

It’s really just sad news.

Some of us just won’t be having any of it.

But some of us see the good in everything. Maybe Bucky or Falcon will inherit the Captain’s Shield.

Chris Evans first signed on to be Captain America in 2011 for Captain America: The First Avenger.

If he does quit being Captain America in the next few years, we’ll be looking out for the lucky man who’ll get his Shield next. At least for now, there’s two more films with Chris Evans, and we’ll enjoy every minute of it.
