WATCH: Netizen Writes Song About the Bloody Campaign Against Illegal Drugs

The campaign against illegal drugs led by President Rodrigo Duterte and Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa has sparked countless debates and discussions. The country is divided between people who support it and people who are against it. Netizen Lolito Go is against it, but he sure does have a creative way of showing it.

He composed and sang a song called “Papatayin Kita,” which denounces the spike in deaths due to the war against drugs. But the song is delivered in a lighthearted and upbeat way that it confuses you for a second. He even has a ukelele!

Even if he is against the violence, he clarifies that he is a Duterte supporter. He said:

I am a Digong supporter up to this moment. And that my faith in the president is still in tact. All I am protesting against is the senseless violence that comes with his relentless war on drugs. I am not putting the blame on the president alone. We all know that the vigilantes and the drug cartels also contribute in the growing number of drug-related murders. I call upon President Duterte to conduct an in-depth investigation on the EJK to make sure that his well-meaning crusade will not be tainted by lawless elements who interfere with his efforts to resolve the drug menace.

According to ABS-CBN News’ “independent monitoring of national and local news reports, and PNP Regional Office press releases,” there have been 1,127 drug-related deaths from May 10 to August 19, 2016. Out of that number, 682 perished from police operations, 351 from unidentified assailants, and 94 are bodies found away from the crime scene.
