Have you heard of virtual reality glasses yet? More importantly: have you tried them yet?
In a nutshell, virtual reality glasses refer to glasses that you can wear to upgrade your entire mobile gaming experience. I don’t know about you, but as a kid, this was the ultimate dream – and now it actually exists! The best part is that they exist in the Philippines and you can get your very own from VR Lab PH like I did.
The glasses are pretty easy to use. They come with an instruction manual on how to wear them and adjust them and where to place your phones, so you shouldn’t have a lot of trouble starting up your virtual reality experience as soon as you get your unit.
I immediately opened my box to try it out myself and it was so much fun! I started out with some of the free apps on iOS, including the Jurassic Virtual Reality where you can see dinosaurs roaming around, Pocket Snow Storm where you can look around while wearing your VR glasses and see snow everywhere, Virtual Table Tennis where you can play a fun game of table tennis similar to the tennis games on Wii, and the Roller Coaster VR where it actually feels like you are riding an actual roller coaster. (There’s a virtual reality ghost story game, too, but I was too chicken to try it out. :p)
I really cannot properly describe what the VR glasses and games are like aside from saying that THEY ROCK!!! I did, however, find a YouTube video of Azethine trying out different games with VR Lab PH goggles, so you can get a better idea of what to expect:
Of course, these are just some of the basic games that you can find on the VR platform. When I first got my glasses, there were only the games above that were worth mentioning, but some other free games that I’ve seen in the App Store today already include a Hunger Games game, a game where you can tour and explore the world through virtual reality and a bunch of racing games. There’s a lot of content at Kickass for 360, 3D and other VR video content if you want to check those out, as well.
The best part, though, is that so many different gaming developers are now starting to create exclusive VR games for their platforms. In fact, it is mentioned on fortune.com that the sales predictions of VR headsets will rise to 100.2 million from 12.2 million by 2020. This seems to be true as VR Lab PH‘s first batch of glasses itself got sold out right away.
Some games that will be released in 2016 include a dinosaur action game, a group game where you can explore the skies of Paris as eagles, a simulation game of the history of human jobs as imagined by futuristic robots, a game where you can see through the eyes of giant stone golems and the very first VR platforming adventure game. There is definitely a lot in store for the VR world and I can’t wait to be a part of it by owning a pair of VR goggles as soon as now!
Any gamer would surely love to get this for Christmas, as well, and I would highly recommend getting one now before VR Lab PH runs out of stocks again. 🙂
