World-renowned Filipino artist Lea Salonga will be awarded as one of this year’s 12 Disney Legends for her remarkable contribution to Walt Disney.
The Tony Award-winning theater actress and singer has lent her singing voice for two Disney princesses: Jasmine in Aladdin, and Fa Mulan in Mulan (2004) and Mulan 2 (2008).
Salonga will receive the award alongside other artists who have sung for Disney Princesses including Jodi Benson, Paige O’ Hara, Linda Larkin, and Anika Noni Rose, and other notable people in the entertainment industry.
Lea will receive a two-foot tall bronze Disney Legends sculpture and will participate in a handprint ceremony to be hosted by Tom Bergeron of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ fame on August 19 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.
The prints will be showcased at the Disney Legends Plaza at Walt Disney’s headquarters in Burbank, California.

To date, 237 Disney Legends have been honored, including Robin Williams, Julie Andrews, Barbara Walters, and Tim Allen.
