4 Kpop Idols Get Tested for COVID-19 After Visiting Itaewon Last Month

Four Kpop stars had to get tested for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease after they had spent the night out last month in Itaewon, Seoul where a recent resurgence of confirmed COVID-19 cases is taking place.

The spike was reportedly caused by a man who went bar hopping in the area on May 2 prior to getting his test results which, after a few days, came back to him positive. The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCHQ) immediately requested that anyone who visited entertainment facilities in Itaewon between April 24 and May 6 to self-isolate at home.

It was then revealed that the four idols, BTS’ Jungkook, SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu, NCT’s Jaehyun, and ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, had been among those who visited the area. Their respective agencies confirmed this with individual statements and assured fans that the four have all tested negative for COVID-19. They also apologized on behalf of the four idols.

According to reports, the group hung out in one restaurant and two bars from the evening of April 25 to the dawn of April 26, a week before the confirmed patient went clubbing.
