2 “Multiverse” Anime Films To Premiere At Same Time, Story Ending Changes Depending on Watch Order

Multiverse movies seem to be on a roll right now as tons of new and upcoming films are touching on the concept of parallel worlds to tell their extraordinary stories. In fact, two new anime movies are in the works right now that follow the concept, only with a unique twist: the two will be shown at the same time, leaving you with the choice of which to watch first, and the ending of the story will change depending on your chosen watch order.

The two multiverse films, titled “Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e (To All of You That I Loved)” and “Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e (To the Only One Who Loved You, Me)”, are adapted from two novels written by Yomoji Otono, both of which were published on the same day back in 2016.

Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e (To All of You That I Loved)” follows a recluse but hardworking university student named Koyomi Takasaki who is suddenly approached by his classmate, Kazune Takigawa, who reveals to him that she is from an alternate reality wherein she and him are lovers.

Meanwhile, “Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e (To the Only One Who Loved You, Me)” is about the romance that blossoms between Koyomi Hidaka and Shiori Satou, whom Koyomi meets at the research institute where his father works, and their attempt to escape to a parallel universe where they can be together.

Based on the synopsis and the trailer that was just dropped for both films, we can expect that we’ll be taken on an intense emotional ride. Better start deciding now what your watching order will be and wish for the best that you’ll get the ending you’re hoping for!

Both films are set to premiere in Japan on October 7, 2022. It’s still unknown if there will be an international release and when it might be.
