Gilas pool member Arnold Van Opstal plays for the San Miguel Beermen in the PBA. However, the former La Salle player has seen limited action since SMB has June Mar Fajardo as their man presence inside the paint.
But he did get to play a few garbage time minutes in the Beermen’s win over the Phoenix Fuel Masters last Friday.
“Jack Frost,” which is Van Opstal’s nickname because of his hair style, was fouled on one possession and was sent to the free throw line.
He missed so badly on the first attempt the ball only hit the backboard. Van Opstal, who got a few laughs and smiles from his San Miguel teammates, fortunately found the bottom of the net on his second attempt.
