In an interview with MTV International, Amanda Seyfried was asked if she would ever consider appearing in a superhero movie.
The ‘Mamma Mia’ star, who’s promoting her new film ‘The Art of Racing in the Rain’, shared that she was once contacted for a role but she decided against it.
While she never said explicitly that the role offered to her was Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy, she does mention that the role was big and would have involved her putting on green makeup for six months out of the year. Despite this, Amanda shared that refusing the role didn’t come from any bad feelings towards the comic book movie genre.

“I turned down [a superhero movie] once and they haven’t called back since. And it was a big’un. I don’t regret it because I didn’t want to be green for six months out of every year. They tell beautiful stories through superheroes, and my daughter’s now really obsessed with superheroes now, and part of me wishes I’d done it, but the other part of me is like ‘I had a life to live’ and I don’t think I would’ve been happy.”
I personally couldn’t imagine anyone else other than Zoe Saldana playing Gamora but it’s fun thinking that, in an alternate universe somewhere, Amanda Seyfried’s playing one of our favorite badass superheroes.
