Written by celebrated Brazilian author Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist is about a shepherd boy named Santiago who keeps getting a recurring dream. In a desperate need to find out what it means, he sets out on a journey to self-discovery.

The Alchemist is a classic novel that’s a staple in the literary world. It is quite impossible not to at least like the book; the novel’s theme on the man’s endless search for the meaning of life and happiness is a binding story everyone can relate to.
And now, 18 years after its first publication, rumors are swirling that a film adaptation to the famous novel is coming, to be produced by Sony. No confirmation has been given yet, nor a word on when production and the release date will be.
One thing’s for sure, though: we are gonna want to watch it, if this does come through.
