Last year, according to a source close to Disney, reports of a third Princess Diaries film were DISMISSED. Julie Andrews even said it was unlikely… buuuut this time, our klutzy princess is making a comeback for real! (Is there gonna be a Fat Louie II though?)
As a dork who grew up with the Princess Diaries movies and books, I loved the first movie. I almost pretended that the sequel didn’t exist if it weren’t for my huge crush on Chris Pine. The 2nd movie and book were so different! Well, except for the princess stuff. After Meg Cabot released the latest installment to the Princess Diaries novel series (Princess Diaries XI: Royal Wedding), looks like we might just won’t SHUT UP anymore: Director Gary Marshall has confirmed that Princess Diaries 3 is in the works!!
According to an interview with People Magazine, Marshall (also the director of Pretty Woman) and Anne Hathaway want to do a Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan. We’re gonna need to wait this out, since Anne would have her baby first. “Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we’re going to do it,” said Gary Marshall.
We’ll try very hard to be patient… Just be geeky again, Mia!
