Today marks the end of the NBA’s first ever Filipino Heritage Week. While this isn’t the first time that NBA teams have hosted Filipino Heritage Week (the Golden State Warriors were actually the first team in NBA history to wear shooting shirts that celebrate Filipino culture – check out their 2016 Filipino heritage shirts here), it is the first time that they have done so officially as the NBA as a whole.
To celebrate this week, they released special shirts that you will definitely want to add to your closets this year. After all, they don’t just scream of Pinoy pride, in general; the design is also cool enough to be worn any day, really. In true Filipino fashion, the shirts boast of the Filipino jeepney with ‘Pilipinas’ written on top of it and ‘Filipino Heritage Week’ written at the bottom. You can even see the rays of the sun from the Filipino flag peeking from the back.
Since it comes in so many different colours – white, grey, black, red and blue – you can even stock up on different ones to set your closet up for different moods and occasions. The shirts are now available in NBA stores nationwide, as well as in select Titan stores. I’m probably gonna get a few colours for myself. :p
