When in Manila and yearning for fine desserts….. I’ll just go straight to the point ok? I’m sort of in a hurry right now.. I’m in a middle of an ecstatic sugar high! OOOhh Yeah! You have to seriously, seriously taste the gelatos and French macarons at Bar Dolci!
A lot of my friends have been asking me to try out their gelatos and macarons because they’ve been telling me that Bar Dolci‘s macarons are no match with my then favorite brand (which I prefer not to tell). hihihihi
So last Sunday I’ve invited a long time friend of mine Dra. Gigi Samson and fellow writer Paula delos Reyes who also happens to be big fans of Bar Dolci to join me and buddy Badeth on our 1st Bar Dolci experience!
Bar Dolci is a gelateria cafe which makes gelatos, macarons and savory items which I may say are “beyond compare!”
Bar Dolci only opened its doors last December 2010 yet they already have been noted as the top gelato spot in Manila! It has received countless raves from top magazines, blogs and practically every person that I know who has tried it! I even heard stories of people literally going wild when their favorite flavor is out of stock!

I must admit…. I’m a fool for macarons! As soon as I entered its ultra hip store, I was stunned with what I saw! It was like an apparition!

By the time I got to taste the much awaited macaron, I was instantly converted to the church of Bar Dolci! I’m now a believer!!!

We were also given samples of their one of a kind Cocktail Gelato Popsicles (130php)!
as to what I heard, girls seem to really love their Tequila Rose gelato!
Guiness Beer gelato! This is actually my all time favorite booze! A must try!
Badeth loved the Guiness Beer gelato as well!
And now…. it’s time for the main attractions! They are said to be the BEST gelatos in Manila!! hmmm Let’s take a closer look!

I find all their flavors uniquely special! I really had difficulty in picking my gelato that night! Good thing you can always ask their ever friendly staff for a free taste! Don’t be shy ok?

The Mexican Hot Chocolate gelato truly had that right amount of “kick!” to spice up your life! I never thought chili and chocolate would make a great pair!

the Salted Caramel was indescribably good! Highly addictive! No wonder it drives people nuts!
I got an extra cup Toffee Roca for Frank who was there with us in spirit! hihihi
I would have to say that their Toffee Roca would be my personal pick since I grew up loving Almond Roca (my all time favorite chocolate)! It reminded me a lot about my childhood! =)
 
In just less than a year, Bar Dolci has already earned a lot of loyal customers! Each time you visit, you are encouraged to write your name on their wall to keep track of the cups you’ve consumed! 10 cups entitles you to 1 free serving!
They sure know how to keep their customers happy!! Their walls are filled with soooo many names! Impressive!

Honestly, I love the vibe of the place! Very casual, colorful and hip! No wonder crowds gather regularly to enjoy their favorite desserts! I was also very pleased to see families having a great time! This is such a happy happy place to be with its top class desserts and the love and laughter which fills the air!
Grazie Bar Dolci not only for serving top quality, fresh exquisite treats but also for providing Filipino families a great place to reunite and bond! As you celebrate your 1st year, I wish you more prosperity and hopefully, I can see more and more branches soon for the public to adore!! I’m glad that my search for the best French macaron is finally over…… for you, yes you Bar Dolci….. you truly make the best ones in the country!! =) I’d like to take this opportunity to thank their very young owner Nicolai Go and their store manager Ryan Castaneda for the very warm welcome!!!
