Art Fair Philippines is set to return this year, and we’re excited to see the exhibitions at the leading venue for exhibiting and selling modern and contemporary Filipino art.

Aside from seeing the latest in art, we’re also excited to see the books that will be launched there.

ISTORYA STUDIOS, INC., a one-of-a-kind narrative design studio that makes original gameplays, toys, and print-based products on the history and culture of the Philippines, will be introducing its newest publications authored and illustrated by celebrated Filipino artists.

The first is GRADE 3 by Thirteen Artists Awardee Doktor Karayom. It’s about grade school memories, told through the eyes of the artist, known for his red art pieces that reference the human anatomy.

The second is mga walang pangalan pero andyan (those without names but are there) by Archie Oclos. Oclos is known for large-scale public murals that deal with social-political themes, like the plight of farmers and indigenous people. Like Doktor Karayom, he is also a Thirteen Artists awardee.

mga walang pangalan pero andyan (those without names but are there) is still available for reservation. You may reserve a copy here.

GRADE 3 and mga walang pangalan pero andyan (those without names but are there) are part of ISTORYA STUDIOS’ Story Collection, whose inaugural publication is Rodel Tapaya’s Bayan ng Ginhaw: Ang Pabrika ng Mga Maskara (The Factory of Masks).

You may purchase copies through the ISTORYA STUDIOS website.

The 2024 edition of Art Fair Philippines will be held from February 16 to 18, 2024. It will turn The Link, a car park in Makati City, into a multi-level exhibition hub for modern and contemporary Filipino art.

Guests can look, appreciate, and purchase art from the country’s top galleries, including those from Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as more exhibitors from the Metaverse.
