Amazon Prime recently released the trailer of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, a prequel series set thousands of years before the trilogy we know and love.

According to showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, the show “unites all the major stories of Middle-Earth’s second age: the forging of the rings, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the epic tale of Númenor and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men.”
They added, “Until now, audiences have only seen onscreen the story of the One Ring — but before there was one, there were many … and we’re excited to share the epic story of them all.”
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is now considered the most expensive show of all time. According to reports, the first season alone cost $465 million.
The show will premiere on Amazon on September 2, 2022.
