Artists Gabbi Garcia and Janine Teñoso have come together to recreate their video performance from High School covering Rihanna’s “California King Bed” after it suddenly started going viral on YouTube.
Janine shared the clip of their new, updated cover on her Instagram page which she put side-by-side with their video from eight years ago.
“Our “California King Bed” cover when we were in high school suddenly went viral on YouTube and a lot of people requested a remake. [Gabbi] and I heard y’all so yes our remake is out now on my YouTube channel!” Janine wrote.
“So funny how fast time flies but I’m glad to witness the growth of the people I’m surrounded with. Thank you [Gabbi] for agreeing to do this with me. Always blessed by your life,” she added.
Gabbi also shared the news on her own Instagram page.
“Last week, our cover from 8 years ago when we were still in 1st year [High School] (yes, we were classmates) blew up on YouTube lol. So, here’s the remake!!” she announced.
The video was taken back in 2012 and shot inside an empty classroom with the two wearing their school uniforms. It’s amazing to see just how far the two have come in their respective careers since then and how they’ve managed to keep their friendship through the years. Truly #friendshipgoals!
