Still can’t get enough of Squid Game? If the ending left you longing for more, then we’ve got good news for you. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, creator of the hit Netflix series, has confirmed that there will definitely be a Season 2.

A couple of months ago, Director Hwang revealed that there weren’t actually any firm plans for a second season yet. In fact, he even told Variety that it was tiring just to think about it. This time around, however, he claims that the pressure, demand, and love for a second season almost feels like they’ve been left with no other choice.
While he says that it’s too early to say when and how it’s going to happen, he also shares that it is already in his head. “I will promise you this: Gi-hun will come back. He’ll do something for the world,” he exclaims. Watch his statement here:

Last month, Director Hwang also told The Times that he was interested in exploring the police angle more in Season 2, as well – definitely something we’d love to see more of.
