As a cosplayer and hobbyist photographer, it has been quite a struggle to figure out a neat place to settle photoshoots. We do have nice places in the country, but if you’re bringing 10 kilos of costumes or equipment, I don’t think commuting and traveling too far would be fun.
Looking for a studio to rent for my cosplay shop, Alshain Coser (@Alshaincoserph on Facebook), to pursue a video marketing plan, I consulted the omnipotent internet. My attention was divided into quite a few ones. But one certainly took my interest: VERA Studios. Why? It’s just in Intramuros (I can walk from my place to get there) and it has an indoor and outdoor area available! Sweet, right?
Established in March 2014 by the owner, Ms. Carmela Verayo, VERA Studios offers event and photographic services, studio rentals for photo shoots, workshops, and intimate and large events. Indoor is an air-conditioned receiving area and an equipped photo and workshop studio complete with a dressing and make-up area. On its roof deck is a 400sqm Spanish colonial era-inspired space with the view of the famous Manila Cathedral.
I reached out to them through Facebook to which I was warmly accommodated by Ms. Carmela herself. We pushed through with our plans in VERA Studios, and it turned out to be a decision well worth it!

And when you think you cannot get any more than what’s already offered, Vera Studios have great promos to suit the interest of many cosplayers such as us!
- All cosplayers and undergrad students get 20% discount on published rates after their first booking.
- A referral program is also available wherein one gets 10% referral fund for every referral. This fund can be used when booking the studio.
- Book 1, take 1 promo. For every regular booking, get FREE 3-hr use of the studio on a weekday except Friday.
