The 23rd Isabela Socio-Cultural Awareness Week (ISAW) invites elementary and secondary schools in Isabela to join its online activities this January and February for chances of bringing home medals, plaques, and certificates and representing the province in the national level, the Patalasanlahi.
ISAW is the primary event of the University of the Philippines Kalipunan ng mga Anak ng Isabela (UP KAISA) in promoting social and cultural consciousness among the Isabeleño youth. The first-ever online ISAW last year was a huge success with over 700 participants from 47 schools, gaining 330,000 post reach and 236,000 engagements on Facebook.
This year’s ISAW will still be held online via Zoom, Facebook, and Discord with the theme: “Anaraar: Pagbibigay-liwanag sa Papel ng mga Kabataan sa Pagtamo ng Pagbabago at Progresibong Kinabukasan” which aims to highlight the critical role of the youth in bringing effectual change and progress in our society.
Originally scheduled on January 29-31, the 23rd ISAW was moved to February 4-6 due to the academic ease announced by DepEd.
“The pandemic has caused a sudden and exponential shift in our daily lives that has brought out societal concerns we must address upon. And so, we are thrilled to present the 23rd ISAW as we chase and witness together the first appearance of light at the break of dawn,” said the event heads, Eulyka Larugal and Kate Serna.
Participants can expect workshops from January 24-28, and a culminight, the ISAWebinar, and the annual contests Quiz Show, Debate Competition, Essay Writing, Pagsulat ng Sanaysay, Traditional Poster Making, Extemporaneous Speaking, Dagliang Talumpati, Digital Poster Making, Short Film Making, and Cultural Show on February 4-6.
