Uniting Young Leaders from Different Walks of Life: SEALO Gears Up for the 2nd ASEAN Youth Engagement Summit

FEB6 DAYONE

In celebration of the 51st Anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Southeast Asian Leaders’ Organization (SEALO) will conduct the second ever ASEAN Youth Engagement Summit (AYES) that will take place on February 20 – 23, 2019 at GT-Toyota Asian Center, University of the Philippines-Diliman, Quezon City.

The four-day event aims to not only provide a high-level platform for the engagement of young leaders and professionals involved in different organizations that aim to make a difference; AYES is also an opportunity for them to widen their networks, to learn from well-known personalities and their fellow delegates, and to garner more experiences and further develop their leadership skills through different breakout sessions, panels, talks, and other activities related to culture and the arts, science and technology, environment and energy, health and social policy, business and economics, and governance and policy.

SEALO firmly believes that the youth has an essential role to play when it comes to ASEAN integration. First held in 2017, AYES has successfully gathered 200+ delegates coming from different backgrounds across the ASEAN region on its last summit. This year, AYES aims to be bigger, bolder, and better. With notable keynote speakers like Amb. Ong Keng Yong (former Secretary-General of ASEAN, Amb. Elizabeth Buensuceso (Permanent Representative of the Philippines to ASEAN), Ms. Elaine Tan (Executive Director of ASEAN Foundation), Ms. Ediola Pashollari (Secretary-General of the World Assembly of Youth), Hon. Maria Lourdes Sereno (Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court), Hon. Anna Mae Lamentillo (Chair of Build Build Build Committee, DPWH), Mr. Jericho Arceo (Vlogger, Jericho Arceo TV), and so much more, AYES 2019 is definitely an event to be anticipated by aspiring world changers that wish “to create an impact in different fields while giving value to Southeast Asian integration.”
