Two Friends. One Room. Twenty-Four Hours. Twenty Questions.

If you were to be trapped in a room with someone for 24 hours, with whom would it be?

Twenty Questions is the story of two friends; the conservative economics graduate Jigs and the liberal and outgoing Yumi, who were intentionally locked in a room together as part of a barkada tradition. During their mandated twenty-four hours of isolation, the two take the time to get to know each other a little better over some bottles of wine, playing a game where they can ask each other about anything and are not allowed to lie. How do you think the story will unfold?

Twenty Questions ni Juan Ekis

Ever since it won the Carlos Palanca Award in 2003, Juan Ekis’ Twenty Questions has become an instant classic. The play, which is a dialogue between two characters on the themes of love, lust, friendship, relationships, questions that needed to be answered, and conversations that needed to be had, was relatable to those who were able to read it when it pervaded online, as well as those who were able to catch the many renditions of the script on stage.

This year, the production team of Twenty Questions ni Juan Ekis plans to stage the play on the first two weekends of January. After eight years, the topics being discussed by the play are still very much relevant and further discourse would lead to a better understanding on everyone’s part.

Actors Eggy Manuel, Luis Sumera, and JedidahMaigue will portray Jigs, while actors EriDurr, AlyanaDalisay, and Diandra Concepcion will portray Yumi.
