This is a celebration; not only of those whoโll be awarded but of everyone. Most especially, it is a celebration of our countryโs victory. This is looking forward to a present full of hope and a future full of promise.
That is just a quote from the welcoming remarks of Ms. Karen Nomorosa from the last TOSP-NCR Awarding Night. It may just be the beginning, but it spoke and it spoke well.
When in Manila, it is again that time for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines-NCR division to be recognized and awarded.
The Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) was founded by Jose Concepcion Jr in 1961, and since then has been contributing to nation building thru the Filipino youth. The TOSP program honors graduating college students who have not only excelled in their academics, but have also made a difference in their respective communities, organizations, and fields of interest.
This yearโs theme is โPito para sa Pagbabagoโ denotes both the whistle-a call to stop, to halt and create change, and the number seven which is the years that the TOSP-AC NCRย chapter has been founded.
And this call was answered straightforwardly by the awardees on their response, โKami ang mga kabataang pumipito para sa pagbabago, hindi lamang sa pamamagitan ng isang tuwid na pamahalaan, kundi maging sa tungkuling dapat gampanan bilang mga huwarang mamamayan.
Sa ikapitong henerasyon ng TOSP-NCR, ipagpapatuloy namin ang sinimulang misyon na magsilbing mga pito para sa pagbabago.
(We are the children that whistle for change, not only through good governance but also by being responsible citizens. We are the 7th generation of TOSP-NCR; we will continue the mission and serve as whistles for change.)โ
