This is a sliver of hope on Easter Sunday.
A 95-year-old Mandaluyong resident has been released from the hospital and was already sent home on Sunday after beating the highly infectious and deadly COVID-19.
This was announced by Mayor Menchie Abalos on her official Facebook page.
“Maligayang pasko ng pagkabuhay, isang Pagasa ang ibinigay sa atin ni lolo Cresencio Junio na isang 95yrs old na naka-recover sa COVID-19,” Abalos wrote.
“Maraming salamat sa lahat ng mga doctors, nurses at sa lahat ng frontliners ng Mandaluyong city medical center (MCMC),” she added. “Simbolo ka lolo ng liwanag na nadadanasan natin ngayon. Ang importante ang pagkakaisa at pananampalataya sa Diyos.”
(Rough translation: Happy Easter Sunday and a new life were given to Cresencio Junio, a 95-year old patient who recovered from COVID-19. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and frontliners in Mandaluyong City Medical Center. This grandfather is a symbol of light to this crisis that we are going through right now. The important thing is unity and faith in the Lord.)
