In an exclusive report, Entertainment Tonight broke the news that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have ended their 6-year relationship a few weeks ago. According to its source, “the relationship had just run its course” and the split was “not dramatic.” This comes as the “Anti-Hero” singer goes on her The Eras tour. Apparently, “It’s why [Alwyn] hasn’t been spotted at any shows.”

October last year was the last time we recall Swift talking about her relationship with the “Conversations With Friends” actor. She confirmed that “Lavender Haze”–the opening track of her “Midnights” album–was inspired by their romance. “I happened on the phrase ‘lavender haze’ when I was watching Mad Men, and I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool, and it turns out that it’s a common phrase used in the ’50s where they would just describe being in love,” she told ET. “I guess, theoretically, when you’re in the lavender haze you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down, off of that cloud.”
“I think that a lot of people have to deal with this now, not just ‘public figures,’ because we live in the era of social media, and if the world finds out if you’re in love with somebody they’re going to weigh in on it. Like my relationship for six years, we’ve had to dodge weird rumors, [and] tabloid stuff, and we just ignore it. So this song is about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff,” the pop star added.
Swift and Alwyn’s relationship was made public in 2017 through a report by The Sun. In 2018, Alwyn told British Vogue in an interview that he is aware that their fans always want to be in the know when it came to their relationship. Nevertheless, he claimed, “I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people.” This proves to be true to this day as even Swift and Alwyn’s breakup happened long before the revelation.
