TLC reinvented the meaning of festivals as their flagship TLC Festival came to the Philippines for the first time last November 21 at Bonifacio Global City! This event was much bigger than last year’s TLC Weekend Festival given all the programs and activities they prepared for their audience!
For those who don’t know, TLC is the globe’s leading entertainment and lifestyle destination; showcasing an array of shows featuring real, adaptable programs that resonate with viewers around the world, showcasing food, travel, relationships, beauty, transformations, and living. The network was launched in Asia Pacific last September 10, garnering over 145 million subscribers to this date! No wonder TLC has been achieving great fortune.
After its successful launch in Singapore, TLC, in partnership with Discovery Communications, decided to bring the experience to a Philippine audience; wherein they get a chance to indulge themselves with an exhibit of artisanal, mouth-watering cuisine, awesome music performances (from the Ransom Collective,Hoochie Coochie Mikkie, & The Bloomfields), and exciting activities that bring its loved shows to life. To top everything off, they even brought in Fun Taiwan’s Janet Hseih, The Fabulous Baker Brothers’ Henry and Tom Herbert, and our very own Food Fix’s Erwan Heussaff!
Screaming fans swooned over Erwan as he taught and prepared a scrumptious dish on stage! It was pretty hard to find out why people were so excited: was it his excellent cooking techniques that fans got to see up close…. or was it just his picture-perfect face? Either way, his presence was a lovely treat for everyone! More than his good looks, this self-proclaimed fat kid inside impresses fans with his quick food fixes, and ability to live a healthy lifestyle despite the small indulgences he enjoys once in a while.

The Baker Brothers, Henry & Tom, gave spectators a fun time with their signature cook-off while doing their goofy antics on stage. They would actually say quirky puns about the food, and for each other, which makes them an entertaining duo. They asked 2 audience members to help out with the burgers they were making — from the very bread they’ll be using, to assembling the yummy dish. It’s one of the things that people love about them and their show — and seeing this in action gave everyone a great laugh, and a cook-off to remember!

When Janet took the stage, everyone was literally screaming out of glee! There she was: talking about her travels around the world, sharing things she learned from the Philippines, and some details on her beautiful wedding in Antartica! Imagine getting married there, or merely setting foot on the land of penguins and sea lions… That’s really beyond words. She also hosted a game for some lucky couples! You could see her fun, colorful personality exude to the crowd. She truly captured everyone’s hearts (even mine)!
